Title: CENTER OF THE CIRCLE
Size: 6x9
Mixed Media Frottage
Frottage: Spanish from frotar - to rub. French from frotter - to rub. Also called rubbings, a technique of creating a print by rubbing crayon, or pencil over a tactile object placed underneath a thin paper. Crusade 21 challenge is to make a resist using crayons. For this Frottage Collage, I used Encaustic Wax. I also wrote a mini tutorial on the Frottage Collage process. You will find posts one through four of the tutorial here.

Cory - thanks for joining the team and sharing your techniques. Rubbing over an image is something I rarely do so you've given us another perspective.

Cory,
ReplyDeleteYour collage is an excellant example of art that is at once beautiful and interesting. The term of art, Frottage, is new to me and irresistably poetic with the word collage. Thanks for showing a thing of beauty and teaching me something new.
